But what exactly is parquet?

Parquet is the general term for a wooden floor. To be more precise, you take a wooden board, dry it to a certain moisture content so that it can be used indoors, and mill connecting elements into the sides. Connecting elements are, for example, tongue and groove or a click system.

The board is then sanded in several steps. Finally, a surface treatment is carried out. This can be oiled, varnished or waxed. Without surface treatment, the surface is simply referred to as "raw".
