But what exactly is parquet?

Parquet is the general term for a wooden floor. More precisely, you take a wooden board, dry it to a certain wood moisture content so that it can be used indoors and mill connecting elements on the sides. Connecting elements are, for example, tongue and groove or a click system.

The board is then sanded in several stages. Finally, a surface treatment is applied. This can be oiled, lacquered or waxed. Without surface treatment, the surface is simply labelled "raw".
